Today, a record number of families, the majority of whom are from Southwestern Pennsylvania, are selecting McGuire Memorial for care and support of their loved ones, resulting in the highest demand for services in our 53 year history. In order to help meet this unprecedented need, McGuire Memorial has launched its second Capital Campaign so that it can provide a greater range of support and services critically needed among families of children with disabilities. Aptly named “The Blessed Angela Capital Campaign”, the goal is to provide necessary funding that will help McGuire Memorial provide a program of care, including but not limited to education, and support for individuals with disabilities through a unique continuum of services.
This effort is dedicated to raising funding for construction of a gym in the amount of approximately $2.5 million dollars. Currently, the use of McGuire’s multipurpose room does not provide for a focused gym program that enhances not only physical activity but also increases the opportunity to build social skills with our autistic students as well. The Capital Campaign will also support the ability to expand programming (such programming to be funded by others) provided through the school involving therapies and educational services that are not currently being provided throughout the region that is served by The School at McGuire Memorial.
When the gymnasium is complete, students will enjoy the fun, esprit de corps and teamwork that can come from these fundamental activities.
Discover, Visa, and MasterCard are accepted.
