Healthcare Services

A team of multidisciplinary professionals assesses the healthcare needs of each individual served by McGuire Memorial to create a comprehensive plan of care and an active treatment plan, whether the individual is in-residence at McGuire’s main campus, or living in one of our community homes, or attending The School at McGuire Memorial.

Individuals who are severely and profoundly disabled, often with complex, multiple disabilities reside in McGuire’s Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/ID . Twenty-four-hour medical care is essential for these medically fragile residents, and McGuire provides round-the-clock nursing care with on-staff RNs and LPNs as well as physician availability 24-hours-a-day. Other members of McGuire’s multidisciplinary team include: physical, occupational, and speech therapists; dieticians; and behavior specialists. Respiratory therapists are also important members of the multidisciplinary team, for many residents have chronic respiratory disabilities that require the use of tracheostomies, ventilators, and other equipment.

  • Residents of McGuire’s Community Homes – individuals with mild to severe disabilities – enjoy private living within a safe and supportive environment where nursing and medical staff, therapists, and behavioral specialists are on-call around the clock, if needed.
  • The School at McGuire Memorial is licensed by the PA Department of Education, providing individualized special education services for students’ ages pre-school to 21 who have multiple disabilities or who are on the autism spectrum. Students at the school are eligible for occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, and behavioral therapy, as necessary.
